Where have I been?

Artsy shot that doesn't tell you much about the projectsI know that it has been awhile since my last post.  I guess I’m just a deadbeat!

I finally finished the Purl Ridge Moebius that I started almost a year ago.  It was greatly delayed by the fact that I didn’t have enough yarn.  I knew that I wanted to finish it off with the i-cord edging, but there was absolutely no way that I had enough.  I’d asked a LYS to order some, but the store would have had to order lots of Mountain Colors to get my one little skein.  So I waited.  and waited. And waited.  Finally, I was at a sale at another LYS with my friend Wendy, and much to my surprise, a skein of the yarn was hanging right there, waiting for me to snatch it faster than I normally grab chocolate.

It’s made from Mountain Colors Twizzle, and I love it.  So much, in fact, that I’m going to keep it for myself.  It’s *so* soft!  I love how the Twizzle looks in garter stitch.   It was worth the wait for the extra skein!

I also knitted a pair of handwarmers for my dear child.  She loves her Fetchings, but they just aren’t substantial enough.  I think I went overboard on this pair though.  I knitted them with  Plymouth Galway Chunky.  They would be awesome for Ohio or some other place that actually experiences below-zero temperatures, but in Texas?  Yeesh… What was I thinking?  Still, she loves them, they fit well, and the yarn isn’t scratchy.  I guess I can’t ask for much more than that.

Then, just as I was clearing the decks for more critters and a big costume project for my daughter, I got sick.  It seems that there’s some flu bug going around that mimics Influenza A.  It got me, and I spent the better part of two weeks coughing and sleeping (when I wasn’t coughing).

Fortunately, I’m mostly recovered now.  Just in time for me to get on that costume project.  I’ll have it ready for my daughter to wear to a costume party on Saturday night, so stay tuned…

  • Lovely colours on the moebius and handwarmers.
We’ve had the same bug and it morphed into bronchitis. I’m glad to know you are recovering. It does take time.
