More evidence that moving is good (part 2)

Alan decided that he wanted his last meal to be a lasagna dinner, so this morning, I headed off to my favorite grocery store to get the things that I needed.

When I walked into the store, I was shocked. Half the lights were turned off, many of the shelves were bare, there were NO carts in the store (at one point, I saw a 6 foot tall woman rolling down the aisle with one of the kiddie carts), and only two lines were open.

It turns out that the store is a subsidiary of Safeway. The union is threatening to strike later on today or tomorrow if their union doesn’t get the contract that they want. Safeway has countered by saying that they will close or sell the 113 store chain if that happens.

Looks like it’s a good time to find a new favorite store.
