Out of all of the yarn stores in the area, my favorite of all is The Shabby Sheep. It’s a small shop, but it is loaded with all sorts of yarny goodness. The owner Ronda is a sweet lady with a genuine enthusiasm for the business. One thing I really love about her is that she seems to remember every customer she’s ever had. When my pal Kitty is in town, as she is this week, Ronda greets her like a long-lost family member that has come home.
I also love the yarn selection there. I have to control myself to make sure that I don’t buy too much stuff when I go there. Today, I bought some Blue Sky Worsted Cotton in a really bright pink for a baby gift. (She is ordering some more, so I need to go back for the bright pink and orange variegated for another baby gift!)
Ronda also had some other news. She is going to be renting out the building next door to her shop to use for classes. She’s not only going to be offering knitting classes, but she’s going to be having spinning, weaving, needle felting, beading, and more! She is also talking about having a type of fiber camp for kids in the summer. Seeing her excitement made me want to be 10 again so I could go!
