I didn’t post yesterday because I was doing something more important… celebrating Little Grump’s 18th birthday!
We picked up pizza and cheesy bread from Papa Murphy’s and then headed home for an evening of relaxation. When we got home, Mr. Grump was already there. He had decided that he would be taking on the dessert duties. He made brownies and was so proud of them until he realized that he had left the oil that he had so carefully measured out sitting in the measuring cup on the counter.
I’m happy to say that Little Grump is very much a “it’s the thought that counts” kind of girl. She thought they were the greatest brownies she had ever had!
I’ll follow her fine example by not saying exactly how they were. Instead, I’ll just revel in the knowledge that, though Mr. Grump can’t cook dessert all that well, he’s an awesome dad who helped raise a very good kid!
Tonight, it was back to the business of being a good school student. She wasn’t all that thrilled, but she practiced her violin.
It’s sad to think that next year at this time, I likely won’t be hearing her play.
